Inside the studio summer tourists browsed. Mandy was wrapping prints at the counter for a customer. She already had the pregnancy glow.

I did a walk around chatting with the shoppers, seeing if they needed any help. By the time I made it to Mandy she was done checking out the woman.

“Been a busy morning. Mind if I get off my feet for a bit?” Mandy asked.

“Absolutely not, mama to be.”

“You know! How did you find out?”

“I tricked Grandpa Drake into telling me! I’m so happy for you and Matt. You go in back and put your feet up. Or maybe run over to the diner. Scott headed there for lunch.”

“Thanks Jackie. Oh and Betsy Bennett was in and said to say hello. She and the senator are buying a vacation home in the Hills. Hannah came over and told me about some movie actress who’d been in the antique shop this morning. We are quite the up-and-coming place for the rich and famous! Including you of course. You were our first celebrity.”

“Very funny. I’m not a celebrity but I’m glad to hear about more people coming. This is one small town that will survive and thrive.”

“Some people think you are pretty famous. There was a browser in this morning. When he realized who owned this studio, he asked if you’d autograph a book of your photographs for him.”

“I hope you told him I’d be happy to,” I said. Not the first time I’d been asked to autograph a book, but the first time here in Harmony. I smiled.

Things were going great.
